In defining the purpose of the Atlantic Museum of Civilization, it is necessary to develop goals for the organization and to develop a Mission and Vision statement.

MISSION

The Atlantic Museum of Civilization seeks to deepen the understanding of past choices, present circumstances, and future possibilities by facilitating the exploration of what it means to be Human.

VISION

The Atlantic Museum of Civilization will be the “go-to place” on the web to experience the breadth and depth of human history and civilization from the comfort of the visitor’s own home.

MUSEUM GOALS

The Goals of the Atlantic Museum of Civilization are to:

Explore the indicators of human civilization and compare their development across cultures
Collect the best digital artifact samples from museums and sites throughout the world
Interpret artifacts and trends to develop a clearer picture of parallel cultural developments
Display vibrant original virtual collections on the Atlantic Museum of Civilization website
