Welcome to the Atlantic Museum of Civilization. We are a virtual museum – one which exists without a building and without physical collections. Our artifacts and exhibits are housed in many museums throughout the world, but are brought together here virtually for ease of access and interpretation. This will allow you to explore and learn other cultures and their artifacts from the comfort of your own home.

Like any museum, you’re starting here in the virtual Lobby, our home page. From the Lobby submenu, you can learn more about the Museum’s history, its Mission, the staff, and how you can help support our work here. You can also use the Main Menu to visit any of our exhibit areas described below.

Our virtual Exhibits explore civilizations past and present. From stones, bones and ancient cities to the world’s earliest writing systems, our virtual collections the visitor understand what it means to be human and to explore the marvelous advances made by our ancestors over the course of human history. However, while the typical museum organizes their collections chronologically or by cultures, our exhibits are organized thematically – examining the key traits of civilizations across cultures.

Our Education section covers all the basics, outlining everything from the factors that signal the rise of culture and advances civilizations to the sciences behind the scenes that help us understand the human past.
